For my friends who think that God will never judge anybody, just because he is such a nice guy, here is a very good text of how God is described by one of his approved commentators, the prophet Nahum:
The Lord is a zealous and avenging God; the Lord is avenging and very angry. The Lord takes vengeance against his foes; he sustains his rage against his enemies. The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will certainly not allow the wicked to go unpunished. - Nah 1:2-3
As a matter of fact, all of us are wicked, and have rejected God. That's why he sent his Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins.
If you want a God who looks like an old man who can't even raise his hand to bring justice, well, that's not the biblical God.
And when Christians say such stupid things, well, it shows that they have never read Nahum.
